I live in Alabama but have a lot of family in Rome, NY. Whenever they come down to visit me I always request the cheese curds. The best I've ever had. Squeaky and delicious! It's an absolute "must have" if you are ever in Rome, NY
Fantastic deli and small grocery. They have an excellent selection of items at their hot bar during the lunch rush and make great subs and sandwiches, too. The servers are attentive and don't make people wait. They're quick to keep things moving and they have a nice selection of groceries, too. The groceries tend to be a little more expensive than most large chains, but not incredibly so. I frequent Mazzaferros for lunch and am never disappointed. I highly recommend.
Great place for grab n' go meals and fantastic selection of meat cuts (chicken, pork, and beef). On Sundays, they have a great selection of wings you buy by the pound. Their deli and hot food selection is fresh. I've tried their burgers, fish fry, sausage and peppers and other side dishes. They are perfect for quick meals. On days where I want to cook a home meal, I enjoy their grocery section. I can always find kitchen staples (spices, chicken/veggie/beef stock, fresh fruit and veggies).
Good meat store and a new place to buy brisket. Very friendly service. Try to have everything in the store, very reasonable also.
They have various selection if fresh meats and price is reasonable even cheaper than other supermarket or store. They also have bakery and it was okay for me. Their service is good.
Best place in town to get subs! There Meats are out of this world! If you're looking to skip dinner look no further, they offer tons of differnt options ie. Riggies, full salad bar, chicken wings, all differnt types of salads (mac, potatoe, pasta) Each day of the week they whip up something differnt for the lunch/dinner special..just like grandmas homemade cookin' They offer tons of grocery items.. definitely check it out, the desserts are phenomenal as well!! Oh my my my! Thank you, other posters for your reviews! This place is a GEM!!! I will start off by saying I am not from this area. So automatically I get all touristy and take picrures. I took pics of the whole store. AMAZING fresh, colorful produce. And cheese and meat. Now I get up to the counter to order and the young woman was kind of giving me the stink eye because she saw me taking photos. I told her I had found this place on Yelp and her attitude totally changed. She was not nasty at all, I think I scared her with all the pics. I explained the app and the owner or manager came over and listened in and was so happy to hear about the good reviews! Now to the food. I got a SMALL cheese steak sandwich and a small cup of baked ziti. You can NOT be at the price. And what I got I was shocked. I expected shredded beef with cheese and peppers....this is MEAT folks. Like hearty chunks of delicious MEAT and the bread was toasted and peppers were sweet with a tang. Good golly. Sandwich itself realistically could go for 8-11.00 in my eyes. It's GIANT 2 grown adults would be satisfied on 1 "small" sandwich order. And it's 5.99!!!! The baked ziti was just as good. I am german/Irish but if I was Italian, I assume this is what my Italian grandmother's pasta would taste like. Awesome. Friendly folks I would recommend this place 1000%.
